This past week was a LONG but short four day week. Great job to all the students who participated in the IAR and COGAT testing! We hope you all enjoyed your 4 day weekend! We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
In 4th grade, we have been learning all about energy! For this activity, students built paper models of an amusement park ride called the "Twist-o-Matic." While testing, we discovered that the ride stores energy in rubber bands and spins around when the energy is released. WOOHOO!!!
Last Monday, 2nd Grade took a field trip to The Raue Center in Crystal Lake. They saw a play called The Pout-Pout Fish. This play taught the students confidence, adventure, friendship and teamwork!
This past Tuesday was Paraprofessional's Day! We would like to say Happy Paraprofessional’s Day to all of our AMAZING, KIND, AND HARDWORKING Paras! We loved celebrating how much you mean to RGS! Thank you for all that you do!

Top fundraisers for KHC had the opportunity to “pie” a staff member. It was the perfect ending the Friday before Spring Break! Have a safe and enjoyable week!
This week Mrs. Szara shared her favorite picture book with second graders called “Who You Were Made to Be” by Joanna Gaines.
On Monday Mrs. Smith spent the entire day in the display case as a reward for the fundraising efforts for Kid’s Heart Challenge. Students had the opportunity to interact with their principal with trivia and “would you rather” questions.
Last week we finished the Sweet 16 rounds! Stellaluna and Bark, George both won their rounds. The Book with No Pictures and Spiders won their rounds too. This week starts the Elite 8! Click, Clack, Moo is up against The Day the Crayons Quit. The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs is competing against Dream Big, Little Pig. Stay tuned to see which books make it to the Final Four!

Thank you to all the third grade students that participated!
Mrs. Vavalle read Strega Nona to the 2nd graders. She even used her awesome Italian accent! The kids really enjoyed Monday’s mystery reader!
