RGS is asking that we spread the word! Current kindergarten enrollment is very low. Typically, enrollment determines the number of sections and teachers for the next school year. If you have a child that is kindergarten age, please enroll right away. While the process requires dental and health information, you can still submit the enrollment form without those pieces and get those to the school later.

This week the 2nd graders in Mrs. Weber's class teamed up with the kindergartners in Mrs. Lacher's class for an engaging learning experience centered around the theme of growth and life cycles. The 2nd graders read the fascinating story called "What's Inside" to their kindergarten buddies. This story shows how a chicken grows inside of an egg. Following the story, the kindergarteners received a hands-on learning opportunity. The 2nd graders guided the kindergarteners through the steps to gently handle and interact with their newly hatched chickens. It was a joy to witness the excitement of both grades during this special learning opportunity!

Good afternoon, Earlier today our area, including RGS, was under a tornado warning. Out of an abundance of precaution and as part of our safety protocol, teachers and staff responded swiftly by initiating a brief shelter-in-place procedure. During this time, students were calmly moved to designated safe areas where our staff ensured their comfort and safety. To keep our students engaged, teachers read stories to the students. I'm pleased to report that our students did an excellent job of following directions and listening attentively throughout the procedure. Please rest assured that the safety and well-being of our students are always our top priorities. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. The Student Council along with the help of the entire RGS family raised money to host a lunch for Teacher Appreciation Week. The teachers and staff were so appreciative of all of the hard work that was put into making the teacher's lounge a bright and cheery space to enjoy their delicious lunch. Here are some photos from Monday's lunch!

Last week, 2nd grade wrapped up their schedule of mystery readers with special stories read by Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Brucker. The 2nd graders were incredibly fortunate this year to have so many teachers take the time to share their love for reading with them. It was a joy to see the students immerse themselves in both old favorites and new tales throughout the year. A big thank you to all the fabulous mystery readers who provided 2nd grade with the magic of storytelling this year!

Mrs. Ring's last Assistant Librarian of the year did a wonderful job! He caught on quickly and moved the checkout line very efficiently. Thank you again, Mrs. Ratts, for this fun opportunity to learn your job! This was a hot choice for Mrs. Ring's class to spend their YOU ROCK tickets on ALL year!
